Position Summary
Working both collaboratively and independently in a dynamic, service-oriented environment, the Analyst Programmer III will provide operational oversight and technical leadership of the UL's Library Information Technology (LIT) Applications Team and its allied services. This position will be required to fulfill the University Libraries mission of supporting the academic success of UNM's students and faculty. Daily responsibilities will include working closely with other members of LIT, members of the UL's Web Committee, the UL's Data Librarianship faculty, other service owners within the UL, colleagues within UNM, and broader collaborations. Strategic responsibilities will include advising the Director, Library Information Technology and other UL leaders on emerging trends in software development, maintaining and developing skills in information technology, and envisioning how information technology can be effectively applied academic libraries and the broader academy. This position will also perform a key role in providing leadership for the software lifecycle for critical UL applications be they developed in-house, open source projects, or proprietary packages.

Skills / Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree; at least 4 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
OR
Successful completion of at least 60 college-level credit hours; at least 6 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Preferred Qualifications
*Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
*Experience with core internet technologies, including HTML, CSS, XML, Javascript, and PHP
*Experience with object oriented programming in C based languages such as Java, Ruby, Python, etc.
*Experience with systems administration in Linux and Windows environments
*Experience in a virtualized server environment
*Experience with identity management in an academic (preferably academic library) environment
*Experience gathering functional requirements for software development projects
*Experience with project management leadership in a technical environment
*Experience in an ITIL organization and/or training in ITIL
*Familiarity with the software development lifecycle in an agile and/or extreme programming environment
*Familiarity with version control using subversion, git, or other code repository tools
*Familiarity of programming frameworks such JQuery, DoJo, Drupal, Sharepoint
*Familiarity of web statistics/analytics and search engine optimization
*Familiarity with middleware applications such as Apache, IIS, Tomcat, etc.
*Familiarity with Linux and Unix security methods
*Familiarity with package management in Linux
*Familiarity of open source RDBMSs and/or enterprise class RDBMSs
*Familiarity with project management tools, such as Microsoft Project or BaseCamp.
*Conceptual understanding of Web Site Information Architecture
*Conceptual understanding of the code review process
