ATA Services, Inc. is seeking highly qualified applicants for a 3 month temporary assignment as a Chief Information Officer for a large division at the State of New Mexico in Santa Fe. This placement may result in a permanent hire.

The main responsibility of this position is to provide a thorough and independent analysis of the current systems in place. Qualified applicants must be able to provide assistance to the Interim CIO to ensure the division continues to operate in a smooth and productive manner.

The successful applicant will have the skills and knowledge to review a 5-year plan that is currently in place and make solid recommendations for improvement. Must have the ability to thoroughly review contracts for completeness and accuracy.

Skills / Requirements

Position Requirements:
Must have a 4 year degree in computer science from an accredited university, a Master's degree is preferred.
Must have an Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer Certificate with extended work experience in IT.
A minimum of 5 years experience managing and/or directing an IT operation.
A minimum of 5 years experience in strategic planning and execution.
Substantial exposure to data processing, hardware platforms, enterprise software applications, and outsourced systems including email, data, off site retention.
Superior analytical, evaluative and problem-solving abilities.
Experience with systems design and development from business requirements analysis to day-to-day management.
Excellent understanding of project management principles.
Proven leadership ability.
Ability to set and manage priorities judiciously.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
Exceptionally self-motivated and directed.
