Role Summary: Through a respectful, constructive and energetic style, guided by the objectives of the company, the COO provides the leadership, management and vision necessary to ensure that the company has the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and people systems in place to effectively grow the organization and to ensure financial strength and operating efficiency. Working in partnership with the CEO and other key members of the organization, the COO will develop and implement new processes and approaches to achieve the strategic initiative of doubling sales from 25M to 50M by 2016.
Core Activities: The COO is responsible for managing all hands-on operational aspects of our company, including revenue and sales growth, expense, cost and margin control and all financial goal management. Serves as the internal leader of the organization and actively supports the CEO in fulfilling the company‚s vision and strategic initiatives. Provides for all staff a strong day-to-day leadership presence and support and builds a cooperative, mission driven culture of excellence and results. Bottom Line: Build a beautiful company.

We want a candidate that has proven experience in growing an organization of our size and a demonstrated ability to both lead and build the capabilities of a driven and diverse team.
Proven ability to consistently make good decisions through a combination of analysis, experience and judgment; high level of business acumen; excellent at problem solving and project management. Ability to translate strategy into clear objectives with measurable timelines and accountability. Accomplished problem-solver with an ability to assess a situation and make difficult decisions; ability to overcome resistance and take unpopular stands when necessary.
Skills / Requirements
Personal Characteristics Required of our COO: Ability to lead, plan and manage change -ideally has experience in having helped transform a family-owned entrepreneurial enterprise into a more systems oriented (and perhaps corporate) organization. Our COO will possess a collaborative and generous leadership style, be someone who enjoys learning as much as teaching, have an insatiable appetite for life and doing good work, be passionate about creating and selling jewelry that "wows" and exceeds customer expectations, and committed to putting team ahead of self. Strong organizational skills, exceptional time management and proven negotiation skills along with unparalleled interpersonal skills and unquestionable professionalism in all interactions; excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must.
Basic Requirements: BA/BS in a related field, prefer an MBA or other advanced degree. Proven and progressive management experience, 5+ years minimum. Successful track record of financial and operational oversight of a rapidly growing organization; an understanding of the organizational development issues that emerge as company‚s grow/evolve. A solid, working knowledge of accounting principles, marketing, sales and operations in a manufacturing environment. A proven commitment to continuous improvement (including Lean manufacturing) is a plus.
