Jobing Description
Residential Counselors (RCs) provide a safe and therapeutic environment 24/7 for students while implementing structured programming and treatment plans that include teaching skill increase while decreasing maladaptive behaviors. RC's are responsible for data collection, progress note charting, and fostering a strengths-based milieu for students.
Bernalillo Academy has a great team of support with Unit Supervisors, House Managers, and a full Clinical Team that works together closely to help empower children and their families.
Skills / Requirements
Minimum 6 months exp. working with children with Autism/severe emotional disturbances/neurobiological disorders, or two years post-secondary education in a Human Service related field is required. Education can be substituted for experience.
Bachelor's degree preferred; 1-2 yrs exp preferred
