JOB OVERVIEW

Conducts and processes information related to daily operations associated with background investigations; providing pre-employment criminal background checks, verifications and screenings to customers upon request; in accordance with applicable Federal and State laws. Provides assistance to customers with interpretation of Fair Credit Reporting Act responsibilities and liabilities. Conducts fingerprinting functions; including collection of fingerprints, notification correspondence and applicant contact with transmittal of confidential information in accordance with department policies and procedures. Handles unemployment compensation claims, as assigned. Responds timely to all customer and regulatory correspondence in accordance with applicable State laws, statutes and regulations. Provides responsive customer service and support with concentration on accuracy and timeliness of all services provided to the customers of the Employment Services Department.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Conducts timely processing of incoming initial and subsequent background investigation requests. Documents all activities on background investigation services activities as required; maintains reference records and security measures. Assists customers with adverse action activities. Ensures timely and accurate return of background investigation profiles to customer.

2. Conducts timely capturing and processing of incoming initial and subsequent fingerprinting requests. Ensures that quality fingerprinting services are provided in a timely manner for all customers in-house and on site according to established standards.

3. Conducts fact-finding investigations into separation issues. Responds to and manages primary and secondary claims, as assigned, throughout the UC claim cycle to conclusion. Documents all activities on claims and member accounts as they occur; maintains reference records and diaries. Ensures timely and accurate filing of claims and appeal letters to Department of Workforce Solutions.

4. Prepares for and attends unemployment compensation hearings, as the authorized representative, as assigned. Responds to Board of Review appeals under the supervision of the ES Coordinator and/or ES Manager.

5. Maintains frequent contact with customers, including monthly and yearly customer relationship management activities. Responds to written and telephone requests for information regarding department services.

6. Maintains compliance with all Regulatory requirements providing updates to internal and external users; as necessary.

7. Performs other duties as assigned by the Employment Services Manager

Skills / Requirements

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

Highly motivated and experienced Human Resource professional capable of handling multiple employment-related activities within strict deadlines. Performs a variety of tasks associated with our customer‚s hiring processes, and must be familiar with employment laws. Candidate will be instrumental in providing unemployment claims management services, processing of background investigation requests, fingerprinting services, and meeting customer service requirements relating to department and organizational standards.

Candidates should be detailed-oriented with strong organizational skills; capable of prioritizing on a daily basis, possess excellent verbal and written skills, and have the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment. Requires excellent computer skills; and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Access.

Must have 2-4 years of human resource experience with proficient handling of unemployment compensation matters and related functions. Professional of Human Resource (PHR) certification is desired.
