Jobing Description

We are looking for CNA's or caregivers with equivelant experience to provide safe and effective homemaker and personal care to clients in their home setting. These services are directed toward enabling our clients to remain as independent as possible.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides personal care to clients, including those with high acuity such as clients who require Hoyer lift transfer, end of life care, or difficult behaviors due to dementia or mental illness. May assist with bathing and grooming (shaving, hair care, nail care, oral care, toilet assistance, assistance with ambulation and/or range of motion) appropriate to the patient need and as specified in the written work assignment.
Performs housework activities in the home of the client. The services may include floor care (sweeping, mopping, vacuuming), dusting, cleaning bathroom, doing laundry, bed making, washing dishes, garbage and waste disposal.
Assists with grocery shopping, errands, meal preparation as needed.
Assists with personal correspondence and clerical duties as needed.
Provides respite care, companionship and engagement.
Assist with medication reminders.
Completes documentation of care provided in a timely manner and in accordance with ElderCare Solutions policy and procedures.
Participates in unexpected care coverage as needed or requested.
Obtains at least 12 hours of in-service training annually.
Performs additional assignments as requested.

Skills / Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma preferred; at least one year experience working with disabled or elderly adults providing homemaker and personal care services is preferred. Other requirements include the ability to work independently; the ability to adjust to changing situations and demonstrate competence under pressure; the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies and the public; the ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing; the ability to travel to various destinations to perform job duties; the ability to lift 50 lbs. or more, combined with bending and twisting; the ability to demonstrate thoroughness, planning and organization, neatness and accuracy; learning and knowing all phases of the job; recognizing and solving routine problems; being resourceful; using common sense; being friendly and helpful; being punctual in attendance; being professional in dress and manner.

Canidate must demonstrate competencies in transfer, pericare, end of life care and the ability to cope with difficulty behaviors.
