LMATA Government Services, LLC a small business in government contracting is seeking an experienced Facilities Express Office Designer to work full-time in support of a long-term contract. The selected candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Q Clearance.

The Customer Operations Support Department, 04825, has two (2) primary focus areas. Facilities Express (FE) provides expedited and rapid turnaround engineering design and construction support identified and funded by line organizations, including Installation, moving, upgrades, and/or modification of customer owned and operated equipment. Typically these are small value projects (ranging from $1K to less than $150K). The department also provides certified inspectors to ensure code compliance in the architectural, civil, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and structural areas as related to buildings and infrastructure construction projects.

Provide design support to customers for work centered on office remodels (which can include small electrical/mechanical modifications, movement of walls, installation of modular furniture systems, network connections, etc.) The FE Office Designer will work extensively with customers, other facilities staff (as required), contractors, and Facilities Management and Operations Center (FMOC) Management to ensure customer modifications/upgrades are executed and completed in a timely manner and within scope and budget.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
* Technical point of contact with Customers for office renovation type work.
* Responsible for all aspects of an office renovation (i.e., customer interactions, design, construction coordination, and addressing any issues customers may have with the final product).
* Negotiate with and update Customers and FMOC Management on scope, cost, schedule, quality and change requests for all assigned projects.
* Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Ensure compliance with Corporate and FMOC environmental safety and health (ES&H) requirements.
* Obtain Project Funding Authorizations from Customers.
* Work with construction suppliers, modular furniture vendors (Steelcase, Hayworth, Herman Miller furniture lines are used at Sandia), and flooring contractor (Ray's Flooring) to oversee construction activities.
* Update record drawings to accurately reflect the current as-built state due to an office renovation.
* Monitor contract warranty requirements and coordinate any necessary follow up work.
* Ensure safety on all projects and respond to safety and code violations. Support any investigations, audits, and/or occurrences.
* Comply with established processes and provide feedback on process inefficiencies, barriers and Improvement opportunities.

Skills / Requirements

* Specific training, knowledge, experience, and proficiency in using advanced CADD software packages (either Microstation or AutoCAD), in both 2-D and 3-D presentation modes.
* Construction/field experience in office renovation including knowledge of design standards, practices, protocols, and system furniture component assembly details.
* Experience and knowledge of configuration management requirements and principles.
* Demonstrated skills in cost estimating and project cost management.
* Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.
* Demonstrated good Customer Relations skills.
* Demonstrated ability to prioritize and balance complex competing activities.
* Must be a self-motivated individual that can work both independently as well as have demonstrated the ability to work in a close-knit team environment.
* Must have a working knowledge of administrative and technical computer based software tools.
* Ability to obtain a "Q" clearance
Desired Criteria:
* Strong familiarity with the Bentley CADD software products (e.g., Microstation and ProjectWise).
* Proficient in multi-disciplinary system design to include: Architectural, Structural, Small Electrical, Small Mechanical, Networking, Interior Space Utilization, and Systems Furniture.
* Experience working with Sandia's FMOC organization.
* Proficient using Steelcase 3-D modular furniture design software.
* Experience working with Maximo and Oracle software.
* Ability to "think on your feet" when dealing with customers and to make logical and prudent decisions when under customer scrutiny and pressure.
