Shift: Days

* Provides leadership and direction for areas of responsibility to include the achievement of financial performance, Baldrige and patient safety.

* Coordinates the development of operational and financial goals and plans for areas of responsibility and facilitates monitoring progress toward achievement. This includes liaison, and advocacy activities between outpatient specialty functions and in patient services, or primary care services.

* Responsible for the daily operations and financial performance of PMG Specialty clinics, including administrative focus for the service across the insurance, primary care, specialist, inpatient and aftercare continuum. Evaluates, recommends and implements future models for development.

* Work collaboratively with the Medical Directors for specialty clinics, PMG Quality Management, , and Care Coordination Services in order to achieve optimal utilization of specialty services and to achieve performance targets..

* Participate on relevant PHS committees that deal with particular specialist, specialty relationships to primary care, UM/QM and Advanced Access issues.

* Teaches and leads CQI and customer service processes. Involves the physicians and staff in improving daily operations of the program. Is accountable for same.

* Develops and is accountable for strategic planning, JCAHO, and financial outcome of designated sites. This includes leading, planning and budgeting processes and accountabilities for budget administration and outcomes. This would include any potential impact to inpatient and primary care services.

* Develops new programs and services, as care delivery needs change in collaboration with other ambulatory managers, inpatient administration, as well as members of the PMG administrative leadership team. Coordinating with various inpatient functions such as the OR, ED, ICU, Critical Care Program, Hospitalist program, specialty laboratories, radiology and various other medical subspecialty as required.

* Develops education plan for self and collaborates with clinical and clerical teams to develop education plan for individuals and the team.

* Accountable for directing the clerical supervisor so that there is data integrity at designated sites and coordination between the front desk and the billing office.

* Oversees facility issues related to furniture and equipment including preventive maintenance upkeep and repair.

- Collaborates with Lead Physician to assure optimal program operations, as well as participating in the hiring and orienting of new specialty physicians

* Responds to clients needs, assures patient satisfaction is met and that complaints are handled and resolved.

* Participates/networks/communicates with internal and external customers and project teams including inpatient and primary care committees

* Directs compliance with policies and regulatory agency standards.

* Supports PMG Operations through responsiveness to requests for assistance, information and leadership

* Provides and maintains effective communications within areas of responsibility, the community, and all levels of leadership and staff.

- Builds necessary linkages/relationships with PHS personnel and external entities (vendors, consultants, etc) to facilitate success of assignments

- Creates organizational responsiveness to meet the needs of customers.

* Demonstrates a spirit of continuous learning illustrated via taking on new and challenging assignments

- Exercises sound working relationships and foster cooperation with members of the PMG, and other business units.

- Coordinates operational initiatives with related services, healthplan, facilities, physicians and employees.

* Assures timely communication regarding initiatives and manage associated risks, escalating as appropriate

* Evaluates, recommends and implements future model for development for particular specialty clinics.

* Works collaboratively with the Medical Directors for particular specialty clinics, , PMG Quality Management, , hospital administration, in order to achieve optimal utilization of hospital services.

- Creates/develps/maintains sound working relationships with members of the PHS Medical Staff, Office of Medical Staff Affairs and PMG clinic physicians.

- Ensures smooth functioning of the specialty practice and build necessary linkages/relationships with PHS personnel to facilitate success of the service. This includes working on space and facility planning iss

Skills / Requirements
Master's degree in Healthcare/Business Administration or CMPE Certification, with a minimum of 5 years experience working within a complex healthcare environment or 15 years experience working within a complex healthcare environment. Related ambulatory experience in relative specialty Demonstrated competence in CQI and strategic planning. Strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills. Nursing background beneficial not required.
