* Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, QA program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.

* Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, inservices and workshops.

* Completes and/or reviews patient's history including needs related to the following factors, based on the age of patient being served: biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, education, discharge planning, and comfort level.

* Implements/documents patient/family teaching based on the theory and practice of nursing, according to the age and understanding of the patient/family.

* Accountable for the safe administration of medications and solutions according to the age of the patient being served.

* Coordinates patient's care to assure procedures, treatments, referrals completed in a timely manner.

* Recognizes patient problems/complications, emergencies, and intervenes appropriately. Provides documentation that reflects the response to interventions, reassessments, revisions and resolutions or changes in plan as indicated.

* Ensures patient rights are observed and supported according to the patient's wishes. Handles all patient /hospital communication and documentation in a confidential manner.

* Demonstrates professional, constructive, positive communications in all interactions. Demonstrates positive attitude and behavior towards peers, physicians, and hospital.

* Performs other functions as required.

Two to three years college level courses/Associate's Degree/Diploma in nursing. NM Registered Nursing License required. Less than one year experience in nursing.
