* Directs personnel including hiring, orientation, assignment, counseling, discipline, training, education, evaluation and termination according to current policy. Develops and implements performance standards.

* Ensures departmental compliance with PHS/hospital established policies, JCAHO, State licensure and other regulatory standards; safety, environmental and legal requirements; infection control policies and procedures. Participates in Performance Improvement.

* Oversees departmental operating budget, revenue and expenditures, according to current policy/approved budget; analyzes and reports fiscal activity, makes recommendation and/or takes appropriate action to reduce the cost of providing services.

* Develops departmental policies, procedures, work flows, goals and objectives; implements PHS policies, procedures and work flows; ensures departmental accountability and customer satisfaction. Communicates pertinent information with employees.

* Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, current literature and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends.

* Develop, administer and regularly review maintenance program.

* Coordinates and directs maintenance work, grounds keeping, and preventive and corrective maintenance programs.

*Coordinates and directs Utility Management Program, Equipment Management Program, and Life Safety.

High school [GED] plus trade or vocational school in construction industries. Three to five years experience in construction industry or health care maintenance. Three years supervisory experience.
