Jobing Description
To perform duties in the area of security by providing a safe and secure environment for employees and customers, and for safeguarding assets and property for the casino, hotel, sports bar, and convenience store, as well as patrols of the entire Pueblo. This is a full-time position. FLSA Non-exempt.
• Guards transfer of money and chips. • Provides security for nightly audits. • Patrols casino, hotel, sports bar, convenience store, and pueblo to identify safety hazards and breaks in security. • Operates the security communication system and maintains a radio and daily log. • Maintains and distributes keys. • Prepares incident/accident reports as required. • Receives lost and found property and maintains records. • Responds to assistance calls, hazardous material incidents and natural disasters. • Follows and enforces set procedures for bomb threats, fires, evacuations and armed robberies. • Liaison between security and other law enforcement agencies. • Oversees any additional special events as requested by tribal administration. Walking, 75%. Patrolling, 20%. Sitting, 5%. Must be in good physical condition. Work is performed indoors and outdoors, sometimes inclement weather conditions. May be subject to cuts, bruises, scrapes, burns, broken bones, insect and/or animal bites, germs, bacteria, viruses, environmental allergens, gases and fumes, cigarette smoke, and noise. May require arduous physical exertion under vigorous and unusual conditions. May be exposed to pain, suffering, and mental anguish under emergency conditions. Skills / Requirements
• Basic knowledge of departmental and gaming commission rules, regulations, policies
and procedures; federal and state statutes, and tribal ordinances as related to security work. • Basic knowledge of the casino layout and the geography of Pojoaque; and resources available for disaster and other emergencies. • Basic knowledge of the PGI Employee Handbook. • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and to write incident reports. • Ability to analyze situations and take quick, effective, and reasonable courses of action with due regard to surrounding hazards and circumstances. • Ability to operate vehicles, firearms, specialized security equipment, and skill in self defense techniques. • High School or GED • Prior security or law enforcement experience preferred but not required • Gaming Commission hiring requirements • Must pass background investigation and pre-employment drug test • Required to wear full uniform • Must have valid driver’s license with no DUI’s in the last five years and no more than two major offenses • Must be able to adhere to the Officer’s Code of Ethics on or off duty and abide by all laws and codes as an Officer of the Department working under the color of law or scope of law Important Notes
