Jobing Description

Position Summary
Provides academic advisement for prospective, current, and former students within University College Advisement Center. Assesses academic level, attends to student academic inquiries, assists in the resolution of individual academic problems, and advises on academic program changes. Advises and assists students in the development of academic plans and class schedules Analyzes applications, transfer evaluations, and transcripts for entry and exit from the university. Develops and maintains appropriate files and records.

Skills / Requirements

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree; at least 6 months of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.


Preferred Qualifications
Experience in:
  • Working in a team and/or in a collaborative work setting, multi-tasking and creative problem-solving and working in a high traffic customer service environment
  • Conducting outreach activities and other student support service related projects/programs in partnership with various campus academic advising departments
  • Advising or counseling a diverse student population
  • Evaluating records and formal documents
  • Demonstrated experience in interpreting departments, colleges and university requirements for applying to a degree granting program
  • Demonstrated proficiency /experience in developing reports, spreadsheets and databases preferably with Excel, Access and Hyperion
