Jobing Description

Under direction and guidance of the CTO, analyzes user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or to improve existing computer systems, tablet and mobile devices to present a unique customer experience. Responsible for developing, enhancing, and sustaining computer systems and mobile systems within KFCU and collaborating closely with business analysts in testing those systems to ensure the production of a quality product. Provides input to management team regarding the prioritization of projects based on KFCU's strategic plan and discussions with the internal customer community.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Examines internal customer requirements documents, meets with the customer to obtain clarification, and builds a project estimation and plan to meeting the business requirements.

2. Assists junior IT professionals in the development of, and provides input on, progress status to business analysts or manager to include risk mitigation if necessary.

3. Provides input on progress status to Business Analyst or manager to include risk mitigation if necessary.

4. Conducts design and coding walk-throughs and documents the results as appropriate.

5. Designs or writes program specifications and converts specifications into computer code.

6. Develops and executes unit, system, and regression test plans aligned with business requirements to validate enhanced capabilities / functionality. Documents delta comparing requirement to tested system and verifies that testing is completed pursuant to App-Dev standards.

7. Provides technical assistance for all levels of problems by responding to inquiries regarding errors, problems, or questions with software.

8. Develops or changes existing documentation based on the development or enhancement made to the software.

9. Maintains / upgrades existing software programs as directed.

10. Provides ideas regarding process and development improvements to management team.

11. Develops and participates in plans pertaining to the development of new information systems to meeting current, future, and competitive needs of the Credit Union.

Skills / Requirements

Knowledge & Skills
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems or related field or a combination of education and work experience. 10 years of directly related work experience may be substituted for degree requirements.
Work Experience: 7 years, at least 3 years financial institution experience and 3 years development experience in a credit union/financial institution.

Skills:. Proficiency in developing and supporting software applications both in the AIX and Client Server environments; Excellent working knowledge of SQL, ODBC, C, C++, .Net. Ability to understand complex business and customer operational requirements and determine the best software solution/functionality to meet those needs. Ability to work closely with Line of Business managers to determine software solutions that meet business needs; proficiency in communicating business needs to IT team members. Strong change management and project management skills required. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills to interface with internal customers. Ability to work as a team player in a high paced environment. May be requires to work extensive overtime hours including early mornings, late nights and weekends. SYmitar experience highly desireable.

Other Job Related Criteria: Must be able to adapt to rapidly changing technology and user requirements. Must be able to work flexible hours when necessary to complete projects during non-banking hours. Must be able to make appropriate decisions and determine when to escalate support in order to provide problem resolution within the framework of the Service Level Agreement.
Project a positive professional image and work in a team environment to deliver the highest level of customer service. Must have reliable transportation and be able to travel to all KFCU locations when needed. Must support the goals and objectives of the Technology department and the core values and business goals of the credit union.

Employees must maintain their personal finances in a manner befitting employment by a financial institution.

Relationships:
Interacts with members, credit union personnel, and vendors.
