Jobing Description
The Quality Assurance and Control Manager conducts audits of our jewelry manufacturing facilities assuring company standards are maintained and product integrity is preserved. Manages the Quality Assurance and Control process for a 200 person manufacturing company. Consults with management to resolve quality, production, and efficiency problems. Continuously collaborate and partner with our supply chain department and cultivate relationships with vendors to ensure our quality standards are met. Develop, implement and manage quality systems designed to ensure continuous production of products containing a
range of dissimilar materials (consistent with established standards, customer specifications and production goals). Supervises a team of quality assurance and control inspectors. Functions as an information source to operations and various company departments when special and critical quality issues occur.
Specific job responsibilities include:
Analyzes facts or circumstances surrounding individual problems to determine what action should be taken within the limits of standard practices. Responsible for compilation and maintenance of inspection reports and records. Investigate and determine cause of faulty work and consult and advise production supervisors as
to corrective measures. Maintains discipline, morale and harmonious relations among associates. Investigate (and correct) customer issues and complaints relating to quality.
Supervise workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure high productivity and high technical integrity. Develop and analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and to establish quality and reliability expectancy of finished products. Provide technical and statistical expertise to teams.
Formulate, document and maintain quality assurance standards and on-going quality control objectives.
Apply total quality management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes.
Design, develop and implement quality assurance and control training programs. Work in partnership with Supply chain department and vendors to establish and maintain quality
standards. Supports new product development, design and purchasing departments within quality assurance standards.
Skills / Requirements
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE DESIRED:
B.S. in Systems Engineering, Quality Assurance Engineering or related field, or, minimum of 5+ years related experience required .
Supervisory/management experience.
Lean Manufacturing techniques.
Quality orientation and high attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Experience leading high performance teams.
Problem analysis and problem resolution skills
.
Experience with developing/documenting procedures.
Knowledge of Quality Assurance and Quality Control methods, techniques and equipment.
Computer proficiency.
Proactive, self-motivated, able to recognize and resolve problems, excellent math skills, exceptional oral and written communicator, proven understanding of the manufacturing environment.
