Position Summary
Under general supervision, exercise accounting control over a group of accounts.
 Requirements:
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Administer financial functions, such as budget accounting, budget preparation or similar fiscal procedures
  • Prepare and/or assist in the preparation of accounting reports and/or reconciliations 
  • Review and approve University expenses and expenditure requests
  • Advise University personnel of the policies and procedures utilized by the Office of Business Affairs
  • Perform general accounting duties, including review of budgets, file maintenance, approval of transfers, or other related duties
  • Prepare budget/expenditure analysis, financial statements, and fiscal reports as required
  • Plan, assign, review completed work
  • Ensure that work assignments are completed timely and accurately
  • Perform related duties as assigned
Minimum Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration, Public Administration, CIS with an emphasis in accounting and a minimum of three years experience in the duties specified is required. 
 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, methods and application
  • Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations, and university financial policies and procedures
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data and prepare financial reports and statements
  • Skill in account balancing and reconciling

 Working Conditions:
Physical Demand and Working Conditions:
  • Work is performed during normal work hours, with some evenings and weekends to meet deadlines
  • Work is sedentary in nature that at times requires exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
