The candidate will be responsible for the overall implementation, development and ongoing management of environmental, safety and health (ESH) programs at the White Sands Missile Range (WSMR), New Mexico field site. Candidate will interpret, communicate, and facilitate compliance with Lockheed Martin, US Army, Department of Defense (DoD) and New Mexico State ESH regulations.
Candidate will oversee ESH program assessments, incident investigations and ensure proper recordkeeping requirements. The candidate will be responsible for supporting organizational safety initiatives while working closely with site leadership, engineering, and employees to assess and address safety aspects of engineering controls while engaging employees to address safety concerns and determining safe work behaviors.
Candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a functional team to resolve issues.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education. Two years’ experience managing ESH programs in a manufacturing, production, or DoD Program.

Excellent interpersonal skills, strong written and verbal communication skills required.

Demonstrated ability as a team player to build consensus among peers and build effective relationships with team members.

Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance and must be able to obtain an Interim Secret Security Clearance prior to start.

Familiarity with/ability to read and interpret all ESH policy, procedure and law.

Completion of OSHA 10-hour training course.

Experience with online accident reporting and hazard mitigation tools.

Experience with online ESH audit tools to track actions to closure and obtain data to support risk assessments.

Experience with Facilities Management as it relates to ESH (fire and plant safety, etc.).

Also, must have the ability to periodically work on-call and to travel within the confines of WSMR, with occasional travel to other sites.

Desired skills
Comprehensive understanding of ordnance regulations (i.e. DoD 4145.26).

Demonstrated ability to interact with DoD customers and build effective relationships.

Experience implementing and managing Hazardous Waste programs.

Professional Safety Certification (OHST, CSP or other) or safety degree.
