Position Summary

This position will support the College of Education and its initiatives connected to recent New Mexico legislation impacting teacher preparation programs and students. The focus of this position will be to establish and manage new partnerships as well as coordinate the design and development of Memoranda of Understanding between the institution and school districts throughout the state. This position will facilitate and coordinate a variety of educational meetings that focus on the needs of school districts, potential teacher preparation students, and educational stakeholders. The Education and Outreach Manager will be responsible for day-to-day budgeting as well as pursuing additional potential funding. One key focus for this position will be to establish fiscal, administrative, and operational infrastructure for sustainable programming connected to relevant educational initiatives.

The ability to travel as well as working non-traditional hours, including weekends, are a requirement of this position.

Conditions of Employment
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in higher education recruitment and retention initiatives.
  • Experience in K-12 education settings.
  • Experience in higher education settings.
  • Fiscal and budgeting experience, including the management of grant funds.
  • Management experience involving multi-faceted programs with various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience with or leadership with state and/or national educational initiatives.
