Position Summary

The Office of Education, within the Department of Internal Medicine, is seeking a Medical Education Program Coordinator to join the administrative team and oversee and coordinate all aspects of the Undergraduate Medical Education program within Internal Medicine. The coordinator creates schedules, assigns teams, sends alerts and reminders, collect evaluations for students, tracks student progress and completion of requirements, coordinates with faculty to update curriculum and student information each block. Sets meeting dates and arranges locations and orientations for each block for medical students at varying levels. Also acts as a resource for students and the Clerkship Director and Assistant Clerkship Director. Works with OMSA(Office of Medical Student Affairs) to provide seamless student information and support. Also manages expenses to ensure they are in line with budget. Also provides occasional support for the Residency program during recruitment or other special projects. This is a high priority position for a complex and active unit within Internal Medicine.

Conditions of Employment
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple complex componants of a program.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and remain focused
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks in a busy environment on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated effectiveness at working in a team environment and supporting fellow employees in their work.
  • Experience and proficient with office related software such as MS Office as well as database management. Experience with/or ability to learn new programs quickly. Including Amion, Banner, New Innovations, BrightSpace, One45, Chrome River.
  • Experience working in an academic environment
  • Experience with budgets, purchasing, reconciling, cost control
Additional RequirementsMust be available for some early morning, weekend or evenings as needed.
