The Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences is a multi-division department within the UNM School of Medicine. We provide excellent, innovative education to residents, medical students, and health professionals; the highest quality mental health care to the citizens of New Mexico; and pursue outstanding multidisciplinary research that helps solve important health problems.

The Division of Community Behavioral Health (CBH), within the broader Department of Psychiatry, is seeking a self-motivated individual to join our dynamic multi-disciplinary team. The mission of CBH is to address behavioral health care disparities through: health services research and evaluation; training and workforce development; and through increasing access to quality behavioral health services that are holistic, cost-effective and provided with respect to unique cultures and communities.

CBH is seeking a Program Specialist with clinical experience to serve as the primary liaison for a research study providing project oversight, implementation, research and evaluation services and outreach. The focus of the research is on identification of first episode psychosis among college students. Because of this, the Program Specialist will also be required to conduct standardized clinical interviews and work with other clinical staff to ensure that research participants are linked to services.

Specific duties & responsibilities of this position include:

· Guiding project development, research implementation, services evaluation

· Establishing data collection systems and data collection

· Compliance and reporting

· Conducting clinical assessments as needed

· Assisting with project oversight, including meeting contract obligations, organizing community-based training and partnerships; meeting facilitation, outreach and more

· Supporting a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders

· Interacting with young people with mental illness and their families to collect data to meet program research and quality improvement objectives

· Providing supervision, guidance and training to other program staff

This is a high-energy position with tremendous responsibility that requires: a great deal of programmatic vision; integrity and professionalism; strong clinical skills and ethical awareness, as well as a collaborative nature to work with a multidisciplinary team; the ability to see the big picture and attend to smaller details; resourcefulness, responsiveness and flexibility; superb organizational and communication/ relationship building skills. This position also requires a great deal of independent and teamwork, and limited in-state travel. This is a full-time, benefits eligible position.

Conditions of Employment
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 6 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

· An advanced degree in a behavioral or public health related field with a clinical emphasis

· Licensed Masters Level clinician in the State of New Mexico (LPCC, LCSW) - or ability to become licensed

· Experience with program implementation, research and evaluation services

· Extensive experience interviewing young adults with severe mental illness and their families

· Experience providing extensive outreach and training to local and state partners

· Extensive experience with database management, synthesis and summarization
