Position Summary

The Center for Development and Disability (CDD), established in 1990, is New Mexico's University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research and Service. These centers, authorized by the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act, build the capacities of states and communities to respond to the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.

This position requires a speech-language pathologist with extensive experience in the evaluation and treatment of young children with autism spectrum disorders, a knowledge of state systems of care for referral, and the ability to effectively communicate results and diagnosis to families, team members or early intervention staff. Both standardized formal methods of evaluation as well as informal observation will be necessary to be successful in this position. Knowledge of ASD specific tests as well as instruments that measure speech-language deficits are necessary.

Conditions of Employment

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in Speech Pathology or an equivalent discipline; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.Certification/LicensureCertificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology; State of New Mexico Licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
