VectorCSP is looking for an experienced Joint Terminal Attack Control (JTAC) Instructor to work in the Clovis, NM area.

Job Summary: Responsibility include JTAC instruction, training and tracking responsibilities; including JTAC, JTAC-I, JTAC-E, JTAC simulator training, range scheduling, mission duties for range operations, and CAS malfunction/accident/incident response and reporting.

 Education and Experience:

  • Must have held or exceeded a JTAC instructor qualification.
  • Possess two years Special Operations Forces (SOF) background or have augmented SOF two years cumulative as a JTAC during operational deployments. 
  • Desired personnel must have held a JTAC-E qualification.

Essential Duties:

  • Assist in establishing and maintaining the unit JTAC academics, folders and programs.
  • Provide instruction to JTAC trainees in both live and Live Virtual Constructed (LVC) environments, IAW Joint Publications, Air Force, SOCOM, AFSOC, Wing, Group, and unit guidance.
  • When directed, personnel will attend JTAC conferences, symposiums and meetings to ensure program continuity.
  • Maintain and update the unit JTAC currency tracker monthly.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA and other applicable laws and regulations for the protection of employees.

  • Comply with SOCOM Manual 350-5 AFSOCI 13-50, AFI 11-214, Wing, Group, Unit, and local range procedures during pre-mission, mission, and post-mission phases of training operations.
  • Support Malfunction/accident/incident response. These duties are required when injury, property damage, or aircraft damage occurs or the event generates media coverage, or could cause an embarrassment to the squadron, flying unit, 24 SOW, 720 and 724 STG, AFSOC, Air Force, or SOCOM.
  • Conduct limited weather observations as required.
  • Operate or develop and utilize academics, and visual aids as mission dictates.

 Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:

  • Ability to readily adapt to and instruct Battlefield Air Operations (BAO), and the use of JTAC mission equipment.
  • Ability to operate a wide range of specialized equipment and vehicles to include, highly mobile multiwheeled vehicle, BAO equipment, SUAS equipment, and communications equipment. Additional training and operator drivers licensing requirements may be required once hired.
  • Ability to navigate day or night to and from the training area, complying with local range procedures.
  • Comply with SOCOM Manual 350-5 AFSOCI 13-50, AFI 11-214, Wing, Group, Unit, and local range procedures during pre-mission, mission, and post-mission phases of training operations.
  • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing
  • Must possess a valid civilian driver's license and be able to hold a valid military driver's license for the military vehicle(s) to be operated.
  • Must be medically qualified and can lift up to a 60 pound box. 
  • Possess land navigation/map and compass skills sufficient enough to read and locate points of interest and targets etc., using latitude and longitude and Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) coordinates.
